Dr Elaine Ingham
Dr Elaine Ingham is a soil microbiologist who first inspired us on our soil journey. We heard her talk in 2014 and she made us really understand the importance of living, beneficial organisms in the soil. We went on to study with her.
Her central belief is that soil organisms carry out the work of making soluble nutrients available to plants through the “soil food web”. She advocates the use of compost and compost teas to restore the soil biology of the earth. Her results show improved yields, soil health and plant quality when a true biological approach is adopted. Moreover these methods sequester carbon back into the soil.
